What documents are needed for GeM seller registration?

Core documents (every seller)

- PAN card — of the business (proprietor's PAN for a proprietorship, firm PAN for LLP/company).
- Aadhaar — linked to an active mobile number for OTP-based authentication.
- Udyam Registration Certificate — mandatory to claim any MSE benefit.
- GST certificate — required if your annual turnover crosses ₹40 lakh (goods) or ₹20 lakh (services). Registering below the threshold is fine, but many buyers filter for GST-registered sellers.
- Bank details — a cancelled cheque or bank statement of a *current account* in the business name. Savings accounts are rejected.
- ITR of the past three years — required for larger tenders and for OEM registration.

Additional documents by seller type

Manufacturer (OEM): factory licence, BIS/ISO certificate where applicable, manufacturing capacity declaration, brand ownership documents.

Reseller / trader: OEM Authorisation Letter (OAL) from every brand you sell on GeM, on the OEM's letterhead, valid for the current financial year.

Service provider: Professional certifications and past-performance certificates (POs, completion certificates) for similar work.

Category-specific extras

IT services need CMMi or ISO 27001 for many tenders. Electrical goods need BIS. Medical devices need CDSCO. Verify with the tender's technical eligibility before bidding.

Digital signature

You will need a Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for bid submission on higher-value tenders. Get one from any licensed Certifying Authority (eMudhra, Sify, nCode etc.) in the proprietor's or authorised signatory's name.
